There's a moment every camper knows. You're three days into a trip, the light is going gold behind the ridgeline, and you reach for your gear without thinking. It just works. No second-guessing the stove, no worrying if the cup will hold up to another season of use. That's the standard we built TriCamp around.
Most "ultralight" gear on the market asks you to choose between weight and durability. Buy cheap, buy often. Buy light, buy fragile. We didn't think that trade-off made sense — not for the trail, and not for the planet either. So we set out to build a range where every piece earns its place in your pack and stays there for years, not seasons.
That meant being deliberate about materials from day one.
Titanium. For cookware, utensils, and tableware, nothing else comes close. It's roughly as strong as steel at a fraction of the weight, resistant to corrosion, and doesn't leach flavour into your food. A titanium pot bought this year should still be the one you're using in a decade.
Natural wood. Our Kuksa cups, plates, spoons, and mosquito coil holder are crafted from acacia, rubberwood, and walnut. Wood brings something titanium can't — warmth, grain, a bit of character in every piece. No two Kuksas are quite the same, and that's the point.
Handcrafted cowhide leather. Our butane canister covers are made in-house, by hand, from cowhide leather. This is the one part of the range we don't outsource. We wanted at least one product where we controlled every stitch, and a leather canister cover — something that takes a beating trip after trip — felt like the right place to prove that out.
Ultralight doesn't have to mean disposable. Every product in the TriCamp range is chosen and made with the expectation that you'll pass it down, not throw it out. That's a slower way to build a gear company. We're comfortable with slow.
We're a small team — four of us, each running a different side of the business, all equally invested in getting this right. Over the coming seasons you'll see limited-edition drops alongside the core range, plus more stories like this one about the materials, the making, and the trips that put it all to the test.
